Get married, simply.
Hi, I'm Parker. My wife and I skipped the expensive wedding, and it turned out to be exactly right for our family. Now I'd love to give you that same freedom. I'm here to make it simple, so you can stop waiting and start moving forward, together.

Three steps
How it works
No fuss, no months of planning.
Get your license
Pick up your marriage license from a Michigan county clerk at least three days before your date. It's good for 33 days.
Pick a time and place
Your church, a park, your backyard, or your venue. Tell me your date and where, and I'll confirm it with you personally.
Say "I do"
Bring your license, photo ID and two adult witnesses. I lead a short, simple ceremony, we all sign, and I file the license with the county clerk. That's it: you're married.

About me
Hi, I'm Parker
I'm Parker Courneene, an ordained minister and wedding officiant in Clarkston, and a family man: married, with kids, and a family that's still growing.
My wife and I got married in a coffee shop. No big production, no months of planning, just us, the people we love, and a few minutes that meant everything. It was exactly right for our family, and I want other couples to feel free to do it their way too.
Married by Parker is just me. When you reach out, you're talking to the person who'll be standing with you when you say "I do."

Questions
The things couples usually ask.
Is it legal?
Yes. I'm an ordained minister with American Marriage Ministries. Once we sign your license and I return it to the county clerk, your marriage is on record.
Does it have to be religious?
No. It doesn't have to be a religious ceremony. We can keep it simple and just take care of the paperwork.
Do we need witnesses?
Yes, Michigan requires two witnesses, both 18 or older. Bring two friends or family members.
Where do we get the license?
From a county clerk's office in Michigan. There's a three-day wait after you apply (some clerks can waive it for a fee), and the license is good for 33 days, so apply within a month of your date. If you both live outside Michigan, apply in the county where the ceremony will be.
Can we write our own vows?
Of course. Send them over, and I'll work them into the ceremony.
How far will you travel?
Anywhere within about an hour of Clarkston. It's free within 20 minutes, +$49 up to about 45 minutes away, and +$99 about an hour away.
Do you do bigger weddings or rehearsals?
Yes. For a bigger wedding, with guests and a wedding party, I'm there 45 minutes to an hour, and it's $449 plus travel. I can come to your rehearsal too, for $149 more. Bigger weddings need a quick chat first, so send me a message.
What if it rains?
I come rain or shine. If you'd rather move inside or change the date, just let me know. There's no charge to move it.
Can our dog be there?
Of course! Your pets are welcome to be part of it. Just check that the place allows them.
When do we pay?
There's no deposit. You pay in person when we meet, before the ceremony starts and before anything is signed. I take cash, Venmo, Cash App, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and tap-to-pay cards.
What if we need to cancel or change our date?
No charge at all. Just let me know as soon as you can. The details are in my booking terms.
What times are available?
Any day of the week, with ceremonies starting between 10 am and 7:30 pm. Same-day is fine with at least 3 hours' notice.
How do we get our marriage certificate?
Once I file your license, the county clerk who issued it records your marriage, usually within a couple of weeks. Then you can order certified copies from that clerk. That's the copy you'll use to change your name.
How do we book?
Book with my assistant: she checks my calendar and holds a time for you. Or send me your date, time and place in the form. Either way, I confirm every booking with you personally.
Let's do this
Book your date
See my open times and hold yours in about a minute. I'll confirm with you personally.
Book with my assistant
